After a 2016-2017 season to forget, the Brooklyn Nets did make some quality deals in the offseason.
Brooklyn acquired the likes of defensive-minded wing DeMarre Carroll, point guard D’Angelo Russell, and scoring guard Allen Crabbe to the rotation this upcoming season. Even with these new pieces though, the Nets will, more than likely, still be in a rebuilding phase.
What the Nets could look for this season, is the improvement from their young core. The Nets’ young core being Sean Kilpatrick and Trevor Booker.
Last season, Kilpatrick and Booker were two of five players on the Nets to average 10 points or more.
Now without center Brooke Lopez, and forward Bojan Bogdanovic, the Nets will look to rely more on Kilpatrick and Booker – along with point guard Jeremy Lin – to carry this team.
Even with the new additions to the team, Brooklyn may still be looking at a lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
