The NBA season’s first month is complete, and what an exciting month it was. From buzzer-beaters to hungry teams ready to prove a point, the first month of the 2017-2018 season was a classic.
After a 2016-2017 season to forget, the Brooklyn Nets did make some quality deals in the offseason.
Brooklyn acquired the likes of defensive-minded wing DeMarre Carroll, point guard D’Angelo Russell, and scoring guard Allen Crabbe to the rotation this upcoming season. Even with these new pieces though, the Nets will, more than likely, still be in a rebuilding phase.
On Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski — of The Vertical — reported that the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets made the second trade of the summer.
The deal will send Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell and center Timofey Mozgov to the Nets. In exchange, the Nets send center Brook Lopez and the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft to the Lakers.
For the Lakers, this is the franchise’s third pick of this year’s draft (L.A. also owns the No. 2 and No. 28 picks).
